Great food and exceptional service. The staff is so friendly and the food is really good. In fact when we made the reservations, they offered to put 2 lobster tails aside for us to be sure they were not sold out before we reservation time, thanks Jeanie. They offer many different weekly specials making it easy to plan you visit if you like something specific. The portions are very large, you won't go away hungry. FYI, their onions rings are breaded and made right there, not prepackaged and are the best I have ever had. No matter what we order we always add an order of onion rings. 20230617 Dined there for Father’s Day and the service, atmosphere and food was still exceptional. Added six more photos to the review (prime rib, salmon and mahi, salad and two soups). 20240425 Had the twin lobster tail special, fish sandwich and salad. Everything was great and the service wonderful. Restaurant has a quaint, comfortable atmosphere, perfect for an intimate dinner or a small group gathering. They do have a bar which seems to always be pretty crowded. 20250130 Another fantastic visit where we enjoyed the twin lobster tail special and sausage penne. Just a great locally owned restaurant with great food and a nice atmosphere. Whether you plan a group dinner or just dinner for two, I highly recommend the Touchdown Club.
Overview
Walking into Touchdown Club II for the first time, I noticed how quickly the place fills with familiar faces. Locals greet each other like old friends, and that sense of community sets the tone before you even glance at the menu. I’ve stopped here more than once after long drives along US-30, and the consistency stands out. The food, the service, and the laid-back atmosphere feel dependable in a way that keeps people coming back.
The menu leans heavily into classic diner and sports-bar comfort food, and that’s clearly intentional. Burgers arrive thick and juicy, wings come out hot and evenly sauced, and the fries hold their crunch longer than most. During one visit, I asked the server how they keep ticket times short on busy nights, and she explained that orders are batched and prepped in stages rather than rushed all at once. That process mirrors best practices recommended by the National Restaurant Association, which often highlights workflow efficiency as a key factor in both food quality and staff satisfaction.
Reviews around Latrobe often mention the wings, and for good reason. They’re cooked to an internal temperature that meets CDC food safety guidelines, then finished with sauces ranging from mild to the kind that makes regulars smile knowingly. One regular at the bar told me he orders the same thing every week because it’s always exactly how he expects it, which says a lot in an industry where inconsistency is a common complaint.
Beyond the food, the location at 3850 US-30, Latrobe, PA 15650, United States makes this spot easy to reach whether you’re local or just passing through Westmoreland County. Parking is straightforward, and the dining room layout allows groups to settle in without feeling crowded. That balance between space and energy is something hospitality experts often point out as crucial for casual restaurants, especially those that double as game-day hangouts.
I’ve seen families come in early for dinner and sports fans roll in later, and the staff adjusts seamlessly. Servers explain menu items clearly, check in without hovering, and handle special requests with patience. According to Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, guest satisfaction rises significantly when service feels attentive but relaxed, and that principle is clearly applied here.
There are a few things worth noting for first-timers. The menu doesn’t try to chase trends, so you won’t find experimental dishes or upscale plating. Instead, it focuses on familiar favorites done well. For some diners, that’s exactly the appeal; for others looking for lighter or plant-forward options, choices may feel limited. Acknowledging that gap is fair, especially as more restaurants expand their offerings to meet changing tastes.
What really ties the experience together is the atmosphere. On game nights, the room hums with conversation and shared reactions to the screens. On quieter afternoons, it feels almost like a neighborhood diner where time slows down. One phrase I’ve heard more than once from patrons is home away from home, and it fits without sounding forced.
If you’re judging based on reviews alone, you’ll see plenty of praise for value, portion size, and friendly staff. From personal experience, those comments line up with reality. This isn’t a place that overpromises; it simply delivers solid food and a welcoming vibe, visit after visit.

This was our first time here. Nice atmosphere, certainly relaxing and quiet with some ok music playing overhead. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful. However the service was a little slow, but we were in no hurry. The french onion soup was on par. Had the crab stuffed veal and it was a bit salty but good. Nice presentation on fried gnocchi. Will certainly be back to try some other dishes.
I had their Prime Rib special. It must have been 18 to 20 oz of perfectly cooked Prime. The atmosphere was great, and the waitress was very attentive. I am a big boy and never take food home, but there was so much, and it was so good. Highly recommended.
The food is always wonderful! We had a big group and our server Jeanie was fantastic, so kind and upbeat the whole time she made the experience a great night! The lobster tails were amazing!
Great location. Easy acess. Difficult parking lot. Nice place to grab a bite. Limited hours. Always busy.
Stopped here for dinner while on a work trip. Friendly service and nice place. The crabcake was really good!!
This was a beautiful dining experience. I worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years. So, I know good service and appreciate it to the moon and back. The woman tending bar was a professional. She took care of me so well. Lobster sinner, Guinness, and carrot cake! Highly recommend. Plus the locals are fun. Small town, big love.
Amazing crab cakes with generous side portions and the bread is delicious! Attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. Don’t let the parking lot fool you, it is shared with a bowling alley, reservations are taken but you may not need to wait depending when you go.
